Feng Shui and Your Stove
Did you know that, according to Feng Shui, your stove is directly related to your financial prosperity and health?
To attract financial prosperity, we must be connected with Universal energy and the influence of the Five Elements of Nature: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. If any of these Elements are out of balance, we can attract negative energies into our lives.
There are important rooms that represent our prosperity in our living or working spaces, and the kitchen is one of them. As per Chinese tradition, the kitchen is a room that is used daily and stores our food, which is considered the source of health and prosperity. The Chinese believe that keeping the rice container full and maintaining the stove well brings prosperity into our lives.
The stove is a symbol of Fire, which represents transformation, vitality, joy, and passion. Fire helps to prepare food that nourishes us and provides positive energy to work, study, and pursue our desires. It also offers us opportunities for abundance in our lives.
Let’s get to the tips:
1. The stove is the symbol of prosperity in the place and, therefore, must always be clean and working well. The same rule applies to the oven. Think about how much the energy from your stove interferes with your food, your health and, consequently, your prosperity!
2. Check that all burners are working, that no parts are missing, and that the oven door opens properly. Keep your stove looking new to ensure your financial prosperity.
3. The stove burners represent the place’s cash flow. Generally, we have a preference for just some of the burners, but we must try to use them all alternately if we want to attract prosperity. This way, we keep the stove’s energy active.
4. Command Position: In Feng Shui, it represents being protected, in control of life, and being able to see the opportunities that present themselves. When we are in control, we feel more comfortable, protected, focused, and confident. The stove must be installed so that when it is used, the cook has a view of the door leading into the kitchen, thus having a commanding position, which is so important in Feng Shui. Any cook should not have their back to the door so that they can control who comes and goes. The stove should also not be located in the passage of energy (in line with the door or a window).
5. If you happen to have your back to the door when using your stove, Feng Shui provides a tool to fix this situation: use a mirror on the wall behind the stove at eye level (it works like a car rearview mirror) so that you can have control over who comes from behind, thus avoiding betrayals and unpleasant events.
6. One of the Feng Shui adjustments for using the stove to attract more prosperity is to use a mirror to duplicate the image of the burners, thus bringing more and more abundance. This mirror must be as wide as the stove and should be placed on the same wall as the stove so that it can reflect the burners. This will enhance the prosperity of the place.
7. People usually place the trash can in the kitchen and often near the stove. And trash cans, despite being necessary, have an energy that does not match health, prosperity, and abundance. As a result, this type of energy is not suitable for the kitchen and the stove. If possible, try to keep the trash can far away. However, if that is not possible, always keep it closed and try to empty it soon, before it becomes full.
8. The sink is related to the Water Element and the stove is related to the Fire Element. According to the Five Element Theory in Feng Shui, Water extinguishes Fire. Of course, it is symbolic, but when the sink is next to the stove, we must make a correction. If this is your case, place an object of the Wood Element between the sink and the stove (it could be a small potted plant or an herb), or wooden spoons, or even hang a 40 mm multifaceted crystal to bring the harmony between the two Elements, Water and Fire, and to avoid the loss of Prosperity.
