The Spanish architect, Luís de Garrido, has always been concerned about the environment. Because of that, he developed a special ecological house design. The size of the house is about 200m2, and it is dismountable, it can be transported and it has a roof garden where it is possible to walk and grow plants and herbs for the owner’s use. His project was named “Green Box”.

The structure of the house was created with reinforced concrete, metal panels, and wood and cement boards. The prefabricated modules fit only by pressure, and they are fixed with screws. Its construction is fast and can be done in 15 days.

The “Green Box” has zero energy consumption, does not generate waste during its construction, and its parts can be repaired or replaced when necessary. He also created an underground air chamber that automatically controls temperature and still harnesses geothermal and solar energy.

The architect warns about most products that promise to save energy, even have ecological labels, but no scientific basis or effective control. He says that it seems people are concerned about global warming, but still many say they make eco-friendly homes while using materials that cause environmental impact and wood that does not always have a certificate of legal use.
